In order to choose the compartmentalization and volume that suits you, look at the empty compartmentalization and then imagine it with your belongings.

How many gussets for your ideal schoolbag?
While the length and height of your schoolbag must be considered carefully (for example to make sure that your laptop is compatible with one model of schoolbag), the depth will give a better idea of the capacity of the schoolbag in question.
The number of main compartments varies from one schoolbag to another. Depending on how much storage space you need, you will choose the number of gussets. Common sense dictates that the more gussets a binder has, the larger it is and therefore offers more capacity. The rule also says that the more gussets, the heavier it is when empty.
There are many binders with 1 to 4 gussets. Brands such as Katana, Charmoni or Gérard Henon offer a wide range of document folders with a classic and professional look.
The single gusset schoolbag: for teachers travelling light
The single gusseted binder is often suitable for teachers who travel light because they only carry a computer or USB stick, or a few cardboard folders.
The two gusseted binder: the choice of the majority of teachers

The three-gusseted binder: for teachers in charge
Choose 3gussets only if youparticularly need space, e.g. if you need to take a large number ofbinders or notebooks with you. Attention, a 3 gusseted binder is generally veryheavy and is better suited to men!
If you need a lot of space and you need a colossal binder, it is advisable to invest in athick, quality leather binder that will not warp either with weight or with time. Binders made of saddle leather or vegetable-tanned leather meet these requirements.
If you opt for an XXL schoolbag, it will inevitably be heavier than a classic sized schoolbag, the clasps must be of quality as well as the stitching and the fixing of the handle, the rivets.
Choose a schoolbag with a shoulder strap reinforced with a shoulder pad for maximum carrying comfort. Some models are sold with a shoulder strap already equipped with a shoulder pad.
Note that these shoulder pads are sold separately for many brands, but it is often advisable to buy the shoulder pad at the same time as the schoolbag, as the leather will become patinated and change colour over time.
